Giving Experts in Your Corner
Ren has a giving solution for every client goal. Whether you’re advising clients on navigating complex assets, annual tax savings, or a family legacy, our specialists can help you put the right plan in place this giving season.
Keep Charitable Assets Under Your Management
A donor-advised fund lets your clients give cash or appreciated assets and recommend grants to charities over time, while the assets stay invested with you. Giving should deepen your client relationship, not shrink the portfolio.
To lock in a 2026 tax deduction, clients need to complete their contribution by December 31. Grants can follow on their own timeline.

2026 Year-End Deadlines
December 31 is the IRS deadline, not when to begin the process of opening a donor-advised fund. Deadlines vary by asset type and by sponsor, so begin now and confirm your client's specific dates early. Starting ahead of time leaves room to resolve missing information, signatures, or transfer issues before anything is at risk of missing the window.
Past the cutoff date? Some gifts may still be possible. Reach out to a Ren charitable specialist.

December 31 is the IRS deadline for the contribution (not the grant) to count toward 2026 taxes. But that’s the legal cutoff, not the date to start — processing time varies by asset type and by sponsor. Complex assets like real estate or closely held business interests need the most lead time, while cash and publicly traded securities can move closer to year-end. See the deadlines above for asset-specific guidance, and confirm your client’s specific sponsor’s cutoffs, since they vary.
