Quick and easy donor-advised fund setup for advisors

Setting up and managing a new donor-advised fund (DAF) through RCF is quick and easy.

Follow these three easy steps to get started:

1. Complete the application: Complete and submit the DAF application. (Generally, set up within 48 business hours).

 
2. Set up account/contribute
  • Set up the new investment account.
  • Send paperwork to Ren for signatures. (Generally returned within 3-5 business days).
  • Make the initial contribution into the new investment account.
  • Email confirmation of funding to [email protected] with the following information:
    • Donor name
    • Investment account number
    • Asset name
    • Cash amount/number of shares
    • Date of initial funding

NOTE: Funding is controlled by the advisor. Timing varies. This step is necessary to move the process forward and match the account on the data feed.

3. Receive credentials: Once account is funded, you will receive an email with login credentials to the RCF DAF platform.

How to transfer an existing DAF account

You can easily transfer funds from another DAF to RCF in three simple steps:

  1. Complete and submit the RCF application and new investment paperwork for signatures.
  2. Set up and send the new RCF investment account number to complete the transfer.
  3. Grant the funds to RCF providing the below information and contact the current provider to close the existing account:
    1. Nonprofit Name: Renaissance Charitable Foundation Inc.
    2. EIN/Tax ID: 35-2129262
    3. Address: 8888 Keystone Crossing, Suite 1222, Indianapolis, IN 46240
    4. Purpose/Designation: Name of DAF with RCF and account number, if known.

  2. RCF is the owner of the investment account and should sign all investment account paperwork as the account owner. Information within the application regarding the account owner should reference RCF, not the donor(s).
  3. The Advisor may need to be licensed in the state of Indiana to open the new account. Check with your firm’s compliance department for their requirements.
